Mingyur Rinpoche’s signature teachings comprising insights, depth and humour continued to impress both the old and new students.

Rinpoche will be back in July, 2007. To be sure, the impact of his teachings and empowerments will be more impressive with time. Given that Rinpoche command of English has improved markedly, this can only bring greater benefits for participants.

Resident Lama - Khenpo Tashi

We are particularly fortunate to have Khenpo Tashi as our resident Lama. He is very well educated in Buddhist philosophy and practice. Born in Nepal, he grew up at Sherab Ling, where he helped to build the original buildings. After many years of study and practice at Sherab Ling, he completed the three-year retreat under Bokar Rinpoche at Mirik. Then Khenpo Tashi studied for 12 years at Nalanda Institute at Rumtek monastery in Sikkim and received hkhenpo2is degree in Buddhist studies, the highest level of attainment in the study of the dharma.. He was personal attendant to Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche for several years until Rinpoche’s untimely death. During the difficulties at Rumtek, Khenpo Tashi led a hunger strike to protest the untenable conditions, nearly losing his life in the process. He speaks quite good English, which he hopes to improve here in Vancouver.

Khenpo Tashi will lead our Wednesday evening (7:30pm) and Sunday morning (10:30am) pujas. He will also be providing various teachings on the four foundation practices, dieties practices and Dharma topics. Khenpo will be encouraging and assisting PPK members in learning Tibetan. Please take the opportunity to drop by the center to meet Khenpo Tashi at puja or any time.
